Online Curriculum Summer Process

We have made a lot of progress automating staff and student accounts in our online programs. With the automation of many of our systems comes necessary work over the summer to prepare those systems for the next school year. In many cases we have to turn off syncing, clean up some information, setup new years, turn on syncing, then make any adjustments necessary. Since many of these systems did not sync in the past, this is new work for us. The two primary online curriculum platforms that we are working on are HMH (My.HRW and ThinkCentral) and McGraw-Hill (Open Court, Wonders, Study Sync). Both systems will suggest we archive or delete information currently in the system. This information will be replaced when the syncing process with Skyward resumes in July. As with any change, my concern is losing any work that teachers have done in these programs. We plan to clear rosters, but archive classes so previous years can be used for reference. If we don’t do these processes, then students may show up in multiple classes of the same subject each year. After this process is done, then both systems should have updated active classes and updated rosters just for next school year. I want to keep everyone up to date so there are no surprises. Let us know if you have any questions.
